ACH & Online Banking

ACH (Automated Clearing House) bank transfers are accepted at every IRGC-licensed Iowa sportsbook. They offer the highest deposit and withdrawal limits with zero fees, at the cost of slower processing times than Play+ or PayPal.

How ACH at sportsbooks works

You link your checking account to the sportsbook by either logging into your bank through a service like Plaid, or by manually entering your routing and account numbers. From there, deposits debit your bank account directly and withdrawals push funds back the same way. Most operators use Plaid or VIP Preferred for instant verification.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Open the sportsbook cashier and select Online Banking, ACH or Bank Transfer.
  2. Search for your bank in the list (Plaid covers 12,000+ US banks).
  3. Log in to your online banking through the secure Plaid frame.
  4. Select the checking account to link. Most operators show a list of all eligible accounts.
  5. Verify a small test deposit if required (instant for Plaid users).
  6. Make your first deposit. Funds credit to your sportsbook account instantly even though they take 1-3 days to fully clear from your bank.

Why use ACH

  • Highest limits. Big bettors with $5,000+ bankrolls prefer ACH because Play+ and PayPal have lower per-transaction caps.
  • No fees ever. Period.
  • Direct to your primary bank. No intermediate card or wallet to manage.
  • Universally accepted. Every Iowa operator supports ACH.

Drawbacks

  • Slow withdrawals. 3-5 business days is the norm. Funds clear faster mid-week than Friday afternoon.
  • Bank can decline. Some Iowa banks (and US national banks like Chase or US Bank) block gambling-coded ACH transactions by default. Call your bank if a deposit fails.
  • Returned-deposit fees from your bank. If a deposit bounces due to insufficient funds, your bank; not the sportsbook; typically charges an overdraft or NSF fee.

When NOT to use ACH

If you cash out a big win and want it in your hand quickly, ACH is the wrong choice. Use PayPal (1-24 hours) or Play+ (instant) for fast withdrawals. ACH is best when you don't need the cash in your bank immediately.
