Play+ Prepaid Card
Play+ is a sportsbook-issued prepaid Mastercard accepted at every IRGC-licensed Iowa operator. It's the most universal payment method on the market; instant deposits, instant withdrawals, no bank blocks.
How Play+ works
You sign up for a Play+ card through any participating sportsbook (each book brands its own; "DraftKings Play+", "FanDuel Play+", etc.). The card is funded from your bank account or debit card. From that point on, you deposit and withdraw between sportsbook and card with no delays. Card balance can also be spent at any merchant that accepts Mastercard, withdrawn at ATMs, or transferred back to your bank.
Where Play+ works
- All 17 Iowa sportsbooks; Play+ is the most universally accepted method.
- Mastercard-accepting merchants; spend the card balance anywhere Mastercard is taken.
- ATM withdrawal; typical $2-5 fee per withdrawal.
- Bank transfer; push the balance back to your linked bank account.

Step-by-step: get a Play+ card
- Log in to your sportsbook account.
- Open the cashier or payment methods section.
- Select Play+ and follow the on-screen application.
- Identity verification (KYC) is instant if your sportsbook account is already verified.
- Your card is issued digitally within minutes; physical card mailed within 7-10 days.
- Fund the card via your bank account or debit card.
- Use it to deposit at this and any other Iowa sportsbook that supports Play+.
Why Play+ is the most popular method
- Universal acceptance. Every Iowa operator accepts it.
- Instant both ways. No 3-day waits.
- Bypasses bank gambling blocks. The card load reads as "Play+", not a gambling transaction.
- Single funding source for multiple books. One card funds 5 sportsbooks.
- Doubles as a spending card. Cash out your winnings, spend them anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
Drawbacks
- Each sportsbook issues its own Play+; you may end up with multiple cards if you bet at multiple operators (though some are interoperable).
- Monthly maintenance fee at some operators (typically $0-$2; waived with regular activity).
- ATM withdrawals have small fees.
- Card balance is FDIC-insured but not bank-tier protected.
